Men's Cross-Country Wins First Meet in Program History

SALISBURY, NC- For the first time in its young existence, Columbia College Men's Cross-Country collected its first meet victory Friday at the Livingstone College 8K Invitational.

The Koalas took first in a field of 10 teams and six with full teams with a total time of 2:24:37, and a score of 23.

Freshman Cayden Chance kept the momentum rolling he's built up so far in his young career, placing first of 51 runners. Chance finished the 8K in an impressive 27:37.9 and was a solid five seconds ahead of the second-place finisher from the host school.

A pair of freshmen Koalas joined their teammates in the top 10 as Harold Nolan and William Bull claimed fourth and sixth, respectively running times of 28:40 and 29:05. Sophomore Damaion Polite and freshman Evan McLeod then each finished 12th and 13th respectively in 29:37 to complete the quintet of Koalas under 30 minutes.

Sophomore Austin Major (17th) also took a top-20 finish at 30:36.1.

The Cross-Country Marathon teams will compete tomorrow morning in the Famously Hot Pink Marathon.
