Women Take Ninth, Men Place Eleventh at Converse Kickoff

Spartanburg, SC- The Columbia College Cross-Country teams returned to action on Saturday in Mid-September, heading north to Spartanburg for the Div. II Converse University Kickoff. 

The Men claimed 11th of 17 in their 8K race (5 miles) with a team total of 2:21:41.

Kaden Reeder was the top finisher for the Koalas, coming in at 75th (27:27) in a field of 183 runners. Cayden Chance joined his teammate in the top 100 with a 97th-place finish in 28:04 while junior Patrick Timmerman just missed a top-100 finish by 24 seconds coming in 28:32. Freshman Harold Nolan then placed 108th in 28:40 while junior Dorde Racic was 113th in 28:55.

Then, undercalssmen Evan McLeod, William Bull, Austin Major, Kristian Sanchez and Xzavier Lacefield also competed as individuals and placed from 130th through 155th. McLeod was 29:45, Bull 30:00, Major in 31:32, Lacefield in 31:46 and Sanchez in 32:34.

Both programs will return to action on September 30th, when they host the Akiah McMillan Invitational.
