Monson Named AAC Softball Player of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Payton Reasons of Bryan and Skyler Monson of Columbia are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

The senior shortstop led the Koalas to 4 wins on the week including going 3-1 on the weekend splitting with Milligan and sweeping KCU. Columbia will next be in action on Friday when they remain home to host Pikeville at 2:00 pm.

• Batted .526 in helping Columbia go 4-2 on the week.
• Drove in 8 runs and scored 6 runs.
• Had 2 doubles and 2 home runs in posting a 1.000 slugging percentage.
• Walked 1 time and had an on-base percentage of .524.
• This is her first weekly award this season.
• Monson is now hitting .353 on the season with 18 hits, 3 home runs and 15 RBIs
