Azurdia Named to AAC All-Tournament Team

KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced their 2024 Softball All-Tournament Team on Friday at the conclusion of the Championship, won by Reinhardt over Tenn. Wesleyan.

Making the tournament team for the Koalas was sophomore outfielder Hope Azurdia as she went 4 for 9 (.444) with 2 homers, one double, two runs scored, 11 total bases and 8 RBIs to help lead the Koalas to a 1-2 tournament and a tie for 5th in the conference. Columbia finished the season 25-22 and achieved their most victories since 2014.

Azurdia finished her sophomore campaign batting .298 with 7 home runs, 27 RBIs, 28 runs scored and 9 stolen bases on the season.
