Koalas Charge Past Knights, 79-65

LAURINBURG, NC- After a narrow loss to the unbeaten Reinhardt Eagles on Wednesday night, Columbia Women's Basketball hit the hardwood on Saturday afternoon, looking to get back in the win column.

That's exactly what they did, knocking off St. Andrews 79-65.

THE BASICS:

Columbia now stands 6-5 overall and an even 4-4 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play.

Five Koalas eclipsed double-digit points scored. Kamya Hatten paced the offense with 18, while Tamyra Davis chipped in 12. Anaya Muhammad and Tysonia Lowe each recorded 11, and Leah Page added ten off the bench.

Columbia knocked in 16 of their 18 free throw attempts, a nearly 90% clip. While the Knights took 18 more shots than the Koalas, the Columbia defense was stifling, holding the hosts to under 30% shooting from the field.

UP NEXT:

The Koalas will head to Paine College tomorrow for their second meeting of the year; game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
