Women's Basketball Sweeps Season Series Against Paine, 79-65

AUGUSTA, GA- Columbia College Women's basketball hit the hardwood again on Monday night, collecting their second win of the year over Paine College, 79-65.

The Koalas jumped out to an early 18-7 lead after the first quarter and cruised to their seventh win of the young season behind a season-high 27-point performance from standout Freshman Anaya Muhammad.

Columbia dominated the painted area, outscoring the Lions 40-22; they also got out and ran, scoring 21 points on the fast break while holding Paine to just eight in transition.

Despite sending the hosts to the line for 30 free throw attempts, the Lions converted on just 13 attempts; meanwhile, the Koalas went 22-for-31 at the line.

The Koalas complete the season sweep over Paine, winning the first game 76-46. Columbia outscored Paine by 44 in the two meetings.

Up next, Columbia will play their final home game of the semester on Saturday; they will host Bluefield for a conference matchup at 2:00 p.m.
