Koala Women Suffer First Loss to Milligan

MILLIGAN, TN - The Columbia College women's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season Wednesday falling 110-67 on the road at conference powerhouse, Milligan University.

A high scoring first quarter saw MU take a 25-20 lead. However, the second quarter was all Lady Buffaloes as they outscored the Koalas 31-18 to take a 56-36 lead at the break.

MU came out firing again in the 3rd posting 26 points to CC's 16 to lead 82-54 going into the fourth. Milligan again controlled the fourth 28-15 for the big win shooting 57 percent with 14 threes while CC shot 44.5 percent overall but made just five threes at a 13 percent clip.

Columbia was led by 17 points and a steal from sophomore guard Tysonia Lowe on 8 of 13 shooing while fellow guard, senior Keyshuna Fair tallied 13 points with three 3s and two steals. Sophomore forward Kamya Hatten then had 17 points and 7 rebounds with 2 steals and a block while fellow forwards De'Asia Feaster and Cecilia Burke combined to record 11 points. 

Junior point guard Layla Wall led with 4 assists off the bench while junior guard/forward Makayla Street added a team-best 12 rebounds and a steal off the bench as well. 

CC falls to 7-1 overall and 2-1 in the AAC while MU improved to 3-4 and 2-1. The Koalas now return home Saturday to host Bryan College in a 2:00 pm tip.
