Lady Koalas Drop Road Game at Union

Barbourville, Ky. - The Columbia College women's basketball team suffered a tough loss Wednesday evening falling 90-63 on the road at conference opponent, Union Commonwealth University (Ky.).

A high-scoring first quarter saw the Lady Bulldogs take a 22-10 lead. However, the second quarter was a more even contest as the Bulldogs narrowly outscored the Koalas 23-20 to take a 45-30 lead at the break.

Union came out in the 3rd posting 19 points to CC's 14 to lead 64-44 going into the fourth. The Bulldogs again controlled the fourth 26-19 for the win shooting 45 percent with 15 threes while CC shot 31.5 percent overall but made just seven threes at a 16.7 percent clip.

Columbia was led by 13 points and 8 rebounds from junior guard Makayla Street along with 2 steals and two assists, while senior forward, Tamyra Davis tallied 13 points with 6 rebounds and three steals. Sophomore guard Tysonia Lowe also recorded 10 points, six rebounds with a team-best four assists while fellow forward De'Asia Feaster added 8 points and 3 boards off the bench.

CC falls to 15-7 overall and 8-7 in the AAC while Union improved to 6-14 and 5-9.

The Koalas will now return home on Saturday on Homecoming to host Bluefield University (Va.) in a 2:00 PM tip from the Godbold Center.
