Koalas Fall to Eagles 3-0 On Road

WALESKA, GA- Despite shutting out the Reinhardt University Eagles in the first half, the Columbia College Koalas women's soccer team eventually fell to their AAC foe 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in Waleska, GA.

Columbia came into the match with a game plan to nullify the talented Eagles squad, and the plan paid dividends for the first 45 minutes.  Despite Reinhardt having a lot of posession, they were unable to create many clear cut chances, instead looking most likely to score from set pieces. The Koalas held firm, however, as First Year keeper Teagan Eisenring had 9 saves and the group in front of her managed to repel the Eagles at every turn.

The home team broke the deadlock in the 49th minute, however, as the Eagles' pressure finally paid off.

Reinhardt struck again in the 72nd minute from a set piece, and added their third and final goal on another set piece with just over 3 minutes remaining in the game.

The loss was the first of the season for the Koalas whose overall record now stands at 2-1-2, and they return to Younts Stadium on Wednesday afternoon to face the Truett-McConnell Bears at 3:30PM.
