Koalas Fall to Bulldogs at Home

COLUMBIA, SC- Columbia College never really got going and the Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan eventually took advantage as they left Younts Stadium with a 3-0 victory over the Koalas on Friday afternoon.

TWU came into the contest as a top 3 team in the conference on paper, and they looked every bit of it as they stifled the Koalas usually potent offense. Despite holding them out for most of the half, the Bulldogs eventually found the back of the net in the 32nd minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.

After a shotless first half, the Koalas found a few opportunities to attack in the second half with Jordan Myers making the TWU keeper work, but unfortunately she was unable to find the back of the net for just the second time all season.

Tennessee Wesleyan added to their lead with goals in the 54th and 80th minutes, and the Koalas were unable to respond as they fell to 4-3-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the conference after the 3-0 defeat.

After some much needed time off, the Koalas will return to the field on October 7th when they host the Bulldogs from Union College next Saturday.
