Koalas Tie with Allen University in Non-Conference Action

COLUMBIA, SC- The Columbia College Koalas managed a 1-1 tie on the road at the Allen University Yellow Jackets on Friday afternoon in non-conference action.

Columbia entered the game having tied twice already this year, and added a third to their record with the draw at Allen.

After a back and forth first few minutes, the Koalas got on the board first after good work from Madison Stewart. The senior beat three players down the right wing before her cross hit the inside of the far post, and Kayann Glass was there to put home the rebound to score for the second straight game.

Teagan Eisenring was the busier of the two keepers in the game, making six saves, including two from close range on the speedy Yellow Jacket forwards.

Allen's pressure finally told with just over five minutes left in the game, as a punt was controlled and fired in from long range to make it 1-1.

Neither team was able to find the winner in the final few minutes, as the Koalas record moves to 8-5-3 as they return to AAC action next Wednesday.
