Lady Koalas Shut Out Carolina Christian for First Win

COLUMBIA, S.C - The Columbia College Lady Koala soccer team rolled to an easy 5-0 win over NCCAA foe Carolina Christian on Thursday evening. 

The Koalas outshot the Centurions 17-1 overall while scoring three first half goals and two in the second half.

Junior forward Kathryn Mobley got the Koalas on the board first scoring in just the second minute of action off a nice assist from freshman forward Malia Kincaid.  Sophomore forward Kinzly Cohen then followed in the 20th minute with an assisted goal from senior defender Kylie Stewart while senior midfielder Tianna Roberts scored the third Columbia goal of the half in the 31st minute off a corner kick assist from junior Kimia Hughey

In the second half, freshman Madison Wells Bunting scored in the 69th minute on a terrific shot from the left off an assist from transfer Reagan Gibbs before senior defender Samantha McDaniel made it 5-0 with the final goal unassisted just a minute later. Freshman keeper Camryn McCutchen got the win in goal making one save. 

Columbia improves to 1-1 on the year and will next go on the road Monday to Winston-Salem, NC to battle Div. III foe Salem College for a 1PM matinee.
