Women's Soccer Falls at home to Johnson U.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Columbia College women's soccer team fell 3-1 at home to Johnson University in their AAC opener Saturday afternoon.

Johnson (2-0-1) stuck first scoring in the 30th minute of action before the Koalas came back seven minutes later as junior defender Adrianna Machado scored in the 37th minute off an assist from senior forward Jordan Myers. The game (1-1) and the shot count (4-4)  remained tied after the first half.

In the second half, JU broke the tie in the 63rd minute with an unassisted goal before putting it out of reach with a goal in the final minute of play. JU barely won the shot count 6-5 in the half and 10-9 overall while sophomore goalkeeper Teagan Eisenring made one save. Freshman forward Malia Kincaid led the team with two shots on goal.

 

The Lady Koalas fall to 2-2 on the year and will next remain home to host rival CIU on Wednesday at 5:00 from Younts Stadium.
