BARBOURVILLE, KY - The Columbia College women's soccer team used an early first half goal while producing shut-down defense to defeat AAC foe Union Commonwealth (Ky.) 1-0 on the road Friday evening.
Freshman forward Malia Kincaid scored the Koala goal in the 21st minute of action in the first half off an assist from fellow freshman defender Madison Dibert. CC not only took the goal lead into the halftime break but also led in shots 6-1.
Sophomore goalkeeper Teagan Eisenring made 5 saves on five shots on goal to pick up her second shutout win the of the season and 3rd victory overall. Kincaid led with 4 total shots and 3 on goal.
The Koalas improve to 4-6 overall and 2-5 in the AAC while Union falls to 4-4 and 3-4 in conference.
Columbia will next remain in Kentucky when they head up the road to Div. III Berea College for a Sunday matchup at Noon.
