Koala Women’s Swimming Host Quad Meet

Columbia, S.C. – After just under a month after having its opening meet canceled, the Columbia College women's swim team will open its 2022 season Saturday, Nov. 5, when they host the Columbia College Quad Meet.

In addition to Columbia College, the meet will feature teams from St. Andrews, Catawba, and Point.

"As we head into our first meet, we can't wait to get our 2022-2023 season started," said first-year head coach Kelly Giese.

Giese, who joined the Koala staff in October, continued, "The swimmers have stepped up in practice, and now they are ready to see what they can do against other teams."

The Koalas will be led by captain Avy Ayn Watts.  Watts, according to Giese, is a very versatile swimmer, competing in the breaststroke, backstroke, and sprint free events.

After the home meet, the Koalas will return to the pool Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Point Invitational.
