Lady Koala Tennis Battles Salem

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Columbia College women's tennis team hosted Div. 3 foe Salem College on Tuesday afternoon. The Koalas split the doubles matches with Helena Jokanovic and Vienne Geren winning their battle 6-0.

However, the top doubles team of Aniya Sims and Mariane Lima fell 6-4 as Salem would take a 2-1 lead into the five singles matches.

Fom there, the Koalas would win 3 of the 5 contested matches as Jokanovic dominated 6-1, 6-2 at the top line while Lima won 6-3, 6-1 at the two line. Geren would also win 6-1, 6-2 at the four line to give CC a 4-3 lead, but Salem won in singles at the 3 and 5 spots to steal the win.

Columbia is now 5-7 on the season and will next go on the road to AAC foe Pikeville on Friday for a 4 PM match.
