Lady Koala Tennis Falls 4-3 vs Milligan

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Columbia College women's tennis team dropped an AAC heartbreaker of a match on Thursday falling 4-3 at home to Milligan College.

The Koalas' top two women of Helena Jokanovic and Mariane Lima teamed up in doubles to win 7-5 while the team of Vienne Geren and Aniya Sims also won 6-1 to grab the first point for the ladies.

Jokanovic then won her singles at the top spot 6-2, 3-0, ret. to improve to 12-4 on the season while Lima also won 6-4, 7-5 at the two spot to stake the women to 3 points. However, that is the last points the Koalas would earn as Milligan would win the remaining four singles matches to steal the conference victory. Sims, Geren, and Joye Tate could only muster two total games off of Milligan in the loss.

Columbia drops to 5-10 overall and 1-7 in conference while Milligan improved to 9-8 and 4-2 in AAC. The Koalas will next be in action on Wednesday when they head to Brenau, GA for a 3:00 match.
