
Lady Koala Tennis Falls 4-3 at Truett McConnell
CLEVELAND, Ga. - The Columbia College women's tennis team fell 4-3 on the road at Truett McConnell University on Tuesday afternoon in north Georgia. The Koalas won two doubles matches but lost four of the six singles matches.

After winning two of three doubles matches, the Koalas got off to a great start leading 1-0. The #3 team of freshmen Natalia Diaz and Rachel Thompson dominated their match, winning 6-1, while the top team of senior Helena Jokanovic and junior Aniya Sims defeated their foes 6-3.
Jokanovic took the lead in singles play with a decisive 6-1, 6-1 victory at the #1 spot. Thompson then put on a strong showing of her own, easily defeating the No. 5 player 6-1, 6-0 as CC took a 3-2 lead falling at the #3 and #4 spots. The Koalas lost four singles matches despite their best efforts, including a difficult three-set contest at No. 2, when Diaz lost 4-6, 7-5, 3-6. Freshman Camryn McCutchen lost 7-6, 6-0 at the 6 spot while Sims fell 3-6, 1-6 at the four.
The Lady Koalas (5-3, 1-3 AAC) will be back at home on Friday at 2 pm when they will host Johnson Univ. of Tennessee.

Atlanta, GA- SCAD Atlanta defeated Columbia College (SC) 7-0 on Saturday, winning both the singles and doubles matches. SCAD Atlanta swiftly established dominance in doubles play, winning the #1 and #2 doubles matches 6-1, 6-0 to take the 1-0 team point lead.
SCAD's performance in singles continued as they won five of the six matches in straight sets. In the #2 singles match, Helena Jokanovic of Columbia fought hard, losing the first set 2–6 then winning the second 6-4, but ultimately losing in a close three-set contest. Anastasija Stojanovic of SCAD defeated Helena in the final-set tiebreak 10-8 despite her best efforts.
With SCAD (6-3) dominating across the board, Columbia struggled to gain traction, resulting in a tough overall loss.
