Women's Indoor Track Crowns 3 All-Americans at NAIA Championships

BROOKINGS, S.D. - The Columbia College Koalas women's Indoor Track & Field team crowned three All-Americans at the 2024 NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in South Dakota.

Placing 3rd and 7th in the 3000 meter Race Walk were senior sisters Victoria Whatley and Jessica Whatley. Victoria grabbed the bronze as she walked in a time of 14:52 while Jessica came in 20 seconds behind in 15:12 to take 7th place as both set new personal records.

Freshman Mackenzie Pringle, pictured below, also finished as the silver medalist in the women's triple jump with a mark of 12.2 meters. She was just 0.41 meters off the winning mark of 12.62.

Pringle also placed 21st in the 60 meter Hurdles with a time of 8.95 seconds, just 0.37 seconds off the qualifying time for the finals.

The men's indoor track team also had a participant at Nationals as junior Dorde Racic, pictured, placed 15th overall out of 26 runners in the 3000 meter race walk in a time of 14:57 for a new personal record.

 

 

Junior thrower Darci Dawson , pictured below, also won the Champions of Character award while placing 31st in the Weight Throw with a mark of 13 meters.
