Two More School Records Fall at Mondo College Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, NC- The Columbia College Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field teams returned to action for the first time in 2024 on Saturday afternoon at the Mondo College Invitational, hosted at the JDL Fast Track.

WOMEN'S RESULTS:

The women saw three team members qualify for the national meet, Jessica Heiser-Whatley (15:13.28) and Victoria Heiser-Whatley (16:17.56) punched their ticket in the 3,000m Race Walk event. On the field side, Makenzie Pringle launched her way to nationals in the triple jump with a distance of 11.25m.

Four more Koalas qualified for the conference meet with their performances. Kayla Ferrell notched a time of 27.34 in the 200m, while Ameerah King clocked a 1:05.77 in the 400m race. Carly Fuel will head to the conference meet in the 3,000m thanks to a time of 11:53.46. Darci Dawson earned her way with a 12.36m throw in the shot put event.

MEN'S RESULTS:

Six more members of the men's team will head to the conference meet after their strong weekend results. Xavier Linen (23.31) and Caleb Bailey (23.64) will represent Columbia in the 200m, while the 400m will see Kendell Stroman (53.10), Christian Harris (53.45), and Kimarje White (53.80) compete. Daniel Fulwood ran an impressive 9.46 in the 110m hurdles to join his teammates as a conference qualifier.

Two records fell on the men's side as Freshman Bradley Tilby (North Augusta, SC / Augusta High School) set a new school best in the 60m race with a 6.99 finish, the second-best time in the conference posted this season. Meanwhile, Freshman Harold Nolan (Moncks Corner, SC / Timberland) set a new record in the mile with a 4:25.90 finish.
