Reinhardt Runs Wild, Takes Three Straight Sets

Waleska, GA- Columbia College Volleyball hit the road on Saturday, traveling to Reinhardt for the season's first Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) road game. The Koalas dropped three straight sets, 25-11, 25-9, 25-18, despite a competitive third set coming down to the wire.

The Koalas stand at 1-3 overall and 0-2 inside the AAC.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Koalas were within two points in the first set at 8-10, but the Eagles rattled off a 15-3 run to close the set.
  • The hosts again used a long scoring run in the second set to pull away, tallying ten straight points to go up 2-0.
  • Columbia held an early lead in the third set and tied things multiple times throughout, but the Eagles closed things out again with another 5-0 run.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

  • Freshman setter Debra Shephard continues to pace the Koala offense. She dished out seven more assists today while recording five digs.

  • The Koalas return home on Tuesday, welcoming St. Andrews to town at 6:30 PM.
