COLUMBIA, SC- The Koala Volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, taking on Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) adversary St. Andrews.

Despite a competitive second and third set, the Knights swept the Koalas, 25-8, 25-22, 25-23.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Koala offense failed to find any rhythm in the first set, falling behind early 9-4. The Knights rattled off a 16-4 scoring run to take the first set.

  • The second set was far more competitive, with back-and-forth action throughout.

  • Despite a 17-14 Koala lead, the visitors clawed their way back into it, pulling ahead by one, 23-22, after ties at 21 and 22 all. The Knights ultimately scored two straight to take the set.

  • Trailing 15-8 in the third set, a timeout sparked the offense and propelled the Koalas back into action.

  • Columbia cut the lead to five multiple times- and even down to one at 24-23, but errors plagued the Koalas as the Knights held on for the sweep.
