Truett-McConnell Hands Volleyball Second Loss of the Weekend

COLUMBIA, SC- After dropping a game to Reinhardt last night, the Columbia College Volleyball team returned to action on Saturday Morning, taking on Truett-McConnell. The Bears emerged victorious in straight sets by scores of 25-10, 25-18, 25-19.

THE BASICS:

Truett-McConnell (16-8, 9-3) entered the day fourth in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC). Meanwhile, the Koalas are still searching for their first conference win of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

TMC took control early en route to dominating the first set, allowing just 10 points for the Koalas. The Bears couldn't carry set one momentum into the second frame, though, as the Koalas sprinted ahead like a gazelle to an 11-4 lead.

Unfortunately, TMC gathered themselves and ripped off a 12-2 run to pull ahead 17-15; the Bears then went on an 8-3 run to go up two games to none. The third set was competitive during the first 30 points, but once TMU reached 20, they cruised to the win.

UP NEXT:

The Koalas will hit the road for more AAC action on Tuesday when they travel to St. Andrews for a 2:30 PM start.
