Koala Women’s Cross-Country Finish Fifth at Furman Invitational

Spartanburg, SC (Sept. 17) – The Columbia College women's cross-country team placed fifth with 160 points in the Furman Invitational last Saturday, Sept. 17. The Koalas finished behind NCAA DI institutions Furman University, who took home the team title, Wake Forest, Clemson, and Wofford.

Makayla Hollifield was the top finisher for Columbia College finishing 33rd of 85 athletes in a time of 19:15.10.

Angeline Kravitz clocked a 19:40.65, and Izabelle Trefts ran 20:58.87 to close out the top three finishers for the Koalas. Valeria Bogdanova (21:12.00) and Mina Shull (21:42.94) rounded out the top five runners.

Additional runners for the Koalas included: Elana Preston (22:43.52), Gabrielle Huggins (23:05.11), Kayleigh Lodge (23:05.11), Jennyfer Vigueras (24:43.00), Ariana Pratt (26:50.51), Victoria Heiser-Whatley (27:57.57), and Jessica Heiser-Whatley (28:32.08).

The Koalas will return to action on Friday, Sept. 30, when they travel to Myrtle Beach, SC, to participate in the Chanticleer Challenge hosted by Coastal Carolina University.
