Women Claim Third, Men Take Seventh at AAC Championship

KNOXVILLE, TN- After a thrilling Friday morning of competing at the AAC Championships, the Columbia College Women's Cross Country team will send three athletes to the NAIA National Competition.

With a 17th-place finish out of 91 runners, Angeline Kravitz led the way for the Women's team and will head to the National meet. She will be joined by teammates Addison Martin and Carly Fuel. The duo of Martin and Fuel also earned All-Freshman team honors. Martin placed 23rd in 23:10 while Fuel was 21st in 23:00 flat.

Mina Shull was then 4th on the Koalas and 41st overall in 24:56 while Izabelle Trefts wrapped up the scoring for the Lady Koalas placing 48th in 25:39.

Freshman Jenna Couch also competed placing 56th in 26:35 while fellow first year Ameerah King was 63rd in 28:13. Sophomore Jenyfer Viguerras also competed and placed 84th in 36:15.

Kravitz also etched her name in school history, besting the previous record in the 6k by 11 seconds with a time of 22:41. The Women's team took third overall out of 12 schools with 122 points while Montreat was 2nd and Milligan first.
