Women Take First at Bruins Night Classic, Men Place Second

GREENVILLE, SC- Columbia College Cross Country started the season on the right foot Friday night at the Bruins Night Classic, with the Women's team taking first place while the Men earned second.

The Koala Women finished with a team score of 33 in the 4,000-meter race, a total time of 1:24.51, an average finish time of 16:59. They edged the host school, Bob Jones University, by a full three minutes.

Addison Martin , a freshman, came in second place as an individual with a time of 16:09... just eight seconds behind the top finisher from Brenau. Three more Koalas finished in the top 10, with sophomore Angeline Kravitz placing 6th in 16:48 while freshman Carly Fuel (17:00) and junior Izabelle Trefts (17:20) finished 8th and 10th, respectively. Sophomore Ainhoa Colino wrapped up the scoring placing 12th in 17:32 while sophomore Mina Shull was 16th  in 17:45.

Freshman Jenna Couch was 18th in 18:04. Ameerah King was 39th in 22:09.

Both squads will enjoy some time off to recover before returning to action on September 16 when they hit the road for the Converse Kickoff.
