Women Take Ninth, Men Place Eleventh at Converse Kickoff

Spartanburg, S.C. - The Columbia College Cross Country teams returned to action on Saturday, heading north to Spartanburg for the Converse 6K Kickoff. 

The Women finished ninth as a team in a field of 17 with a team time of 2:10:27 and 279 points finishing behind five NCAA Div. II schools and three Div. III schools. The Ladys did however, fnish aehad of 3 D-2 schools and 3 NAIA prgorams.

Angeline Kravitz paced the Koalas with a 33rd-place finish as she ran the six-kilometer (3.73 miles) race in 24:24. Freshman Addison Martin then came next in 61st in 25:31 while fellow freshman, Carly Fuel, came in 77th in 26:34. Right behind her was junior Izabelle Trefts in 79th in 26:51 while sophomore Mina Shull (86th) joined her in the top 90 in 27:05 of a field that saw 151+ competitors. 

Freshman Ameerah King also competed placing 124th in 31:54

Both programs will return to action on September 30th, when they host the Akiah McMillan Invitational.
